nino: nothing in, nothing out
Mi különbözteti meg az emberi fajt a többi élőlénytől - hogy tudunk kilépni rögzült viselkedésmintáinkból? A nino a létezés, a tapasztalás határait feszegeti, rákérdez ezek természetére, fluiditására és arra, hogy a fizikai testen kívüli térbe hogyan terjed ki az identitás és maga a létezés. A nino a színpadra hív.
Gibson/Martelli munkabemutatóján az AI kreatív múzsa, ami zenét, látványt és avatárokat generál promptok (utasítások) alapján. Hasonlóképpen a kortárstáncban alkalmazott Skinner Releasing technikához (SRT), ami szóképekkel vezetett gyakorlatokkal (instrukciókkal) inspirálja a táncolót kreatív és játékos mozgásra.
Az alkotópáros a modina.eu támogatásával részt vett a Trafó rezidencia programján, mely során együtt dolgozott Oláh Balázs, Gesztelyi Nagy Csilla, Mar Serra Martí illetve Gál Eszter táncosokkal és a zenész Mechanoid Muse: Marcus Villaca-val. A jelmezt Laposa Kitti jegyzi, külön köszönet Nagy Lizának és Tamaskó Helénnek.
A londoni Gibson/Martelli művészpáros a kortárstánc, digitális technológia és gaming határterületein hoz létre interaktív, immerzív alkotásokat, amelyekben elmosódnak a játékos, az előadó és a közönség közötti határok. Helyspecifikus, nagyszabású installációik, immerzív virtuális valóságaik létrehozásakor visszatérő témáik a megzavarás, az álcázás, a megfigyelés és az identitás. A világ számos országában bemutatkoztak, az Amerikai Egyesült Államoktól, Kínán és Írországon át Ausztráliáig, és olyan rangos helyszíneken valósultak meg előadásaik és kiállításaik, mint a Barbican (London), a Gulbenkian Modern Művészeti Központ (Lisszabon), a Detroiti Művészeti Intézet, valamint a Velencei Biennále.

What makes us different as a species - how can we break behavioural patterns? nino challenges the boundaries of what it means to 'be' and to 'experience', the nature of being, fluidity, identity and existence occupying spaces beyond the body. nino is an invitation onto the stage.
For Gibson/Martelli's work-in-progress, AI serves as a creative muse, generating music, visuals and avatars from generic prompts. Similarly, the dance practice, Skinner Releasing Technique (SRT) uses spoken texts as prompts to encourage creative movement and play.
Artists gibson/martelli are supported by modina.eu during a residency at Trafó, Budapest with music from Mechanoid Muse: Marcus Villaca and dancers: Balázs Oláh, Csilla Gesztelyi Nagy, Mar Serra Martí together with Eszter Gál and thanks to Liza Nagy and Helén Tamaskó with clothing from Kitti Laposa.
Creative technologist Bruno Martelli and dance artist Ruth Gibson create site-specific, large-scale works for parks, hospitals, museums, galleries and theatres. Examining ideas of visitor, player and performer by using machine learning, simulation, and motion capture, the artists design installations and immersive virtual realities. Themes of disruption, disguise, camouflage, surveillance and identity recur. Gibson and Martelli hold a joint doctorate in media and communications from The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
Nominated for a British Academy of Film & Television Arts Award (BAFTA), the duo received numerous accolades, this year becoming Inaugural Fellows at Taubman College of Architecture at the University of Michigan and artists-in-residence at #studios44Mocaplab, Geneva. In 2015, they won the Gold Award of the Lumen Prize. Their recent exhibitions include the 66th BFI London Film Festival and the 79th Venice International Film Festival of La Biennale di Venezia.
