Modern Curve Matrix ~ No Tear FPP quilting workshop
This will be held at Millard Sewing Center on Sunday, Nov. 1 from 12:30-4 pm. The maximum number of students is 15.
The cost will be $40 and you will need to bring 3 contrasting half yard cuts, a rotary blade and a short / smallish ruler (can be an add-a-quarter ruler but not required). A seam roller will be helpful if there aren't many ironing stations. I will check with Millard Sewing Center about personal ironing stations to see what they suggest!

Dive into the world of "no-tear" foundation piecing! In this curved checkerboard block workshop, we will use freezer paper to tame the curves of a complex matrix, creating a bold checkerboard design that looks like a masterwork but pieces like a dream. This method allows students to create complex, graphic geometry that looks impossibly difficult but is achieved with ease.
With step-by-step guidance, students will explore how to use "no tear" templates, ensuring every curved seam is crisp and pucker-free and engineer perfect intersections using expert nesting techniques. Students will learn to master the fundamentals of the freezer paper method and discover how to scale this simple process into endless design possibilities. Students will leave this workshop not just with a striking block, but with a toolkit of techniques that will allow them to piece future FPP projects with freezer paper.
