Modern Calligraphy

Modern calligraphy is where tradition meets creativity! This class is designed for students who already have experience with traditional pointed-pen calligraphy and are ready to explore more expressive contemporary styles.

You’ll analyze a variety of modern scripts, learn to adapt traditional strokes into fresh new forms, and even experiment with developing your own calligraphy style. Take your skills beyond the expected and embrace the artistry of modern lettering!

WHO: This class is designed for adults and mature adolescents.

PREREQUISITE: At least two months studying any classical pointed-pen calligraphy style, such as copperplate or Spencerian.

WHERE: Online via Zoom.

(LIVE interactive online workshop, 12 students maximum)

RECORDINGS: Available for review for an extended period.

WHEN: This class includes 6 weekly lessons,

on Mondays, September 8 through October 13, 2025,

from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Eastern Time.
