Mod80s Night Featuring SKOTO, FEVR, and GLOAM
About this Event
SKOTO is an Oakland, California-based darkwave and industrial project founded by artist and multi-instrumentalist Marina Andräde. The project’s name is derived from the Greek word for "darkness". Andräde crafts a gritty sound blending heavy percussion, post-punk synths, and acid-infused basslines. Deeply influenced by legendary acts like Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, and Nitzer Ebb, SKOTO has became a prominent staple in the Bay Area and West Coast dark electronic scenes, performing dozens of shows and supporting acts like TR/ST and Martin Dupont at festivals such as Substance.
GLOAM is an emerging dark electronic, EBM, and minimal techno project based in Los Angeles. Helmed by the artist Fevr, the project utilizes live analog hardware and features tracks like "VOID" and "BLACKOUT". The project made its debut in the LA underground and goth scenes with recent shows, including performances at Bricks Rock Bar in downtown Los Angeles and Que Sera in Long Beach.
Far from sunny and bright, Fevr offers a unique brand of pure coldwave/newwave/post-punk with a heavy darkwave and darksynth influence, endearingly menacing synth work, callous and brooding vocals, stellar guitar and drum work, and deep, thought-provoking yet simply relatable lyricism, this band is a creation of a cold, desolate, and sorrowful stroke of genius from an anxious mind.
