Join us for an exciting drop-in experience during February School Vacation Week! Get creative with Gif-O-Graf, the world's first all-in-one animation machine. This program invites guests of all ages to explore the art of stop-motion animation. This activity is inspired by our special exhibition Draw Me Ishmael: The Book Arts of Moby Dick.
Work alongside the inventors of the Gif-O-Graf, Sam Shorr and Willy DeConto, who will guide you through the animation process to bring your ideas to life. Don’t miss this chance to unleash your creativity and learn from the experts while making your own animated masterpiece!
Meet the Instructors
Sam Shorr and Willy DeConto are the co-founders of Gif-O-Graf, a groundbreaking all-in-one animation system. Their inspiration came from working on a communication app for neurodiverse youth, where they noticed a strong affinity for animation. After conducting a successful yet labor-intensive animation workshop, they decided to create a more efficient, self-contained tool. Today, Gif-O-Graf systems are sold to schools, libraries and other public institutions, providing an accessible way for young people to explore creativity through animation.
