Join historian Greg Caggiano for a presentation on rum-running and Prohibition in New Jersey, with a focus on the northern Jersey Shore on June 24 at 7PM at the Woodbridge Main Library. Hear stories of mob violence, corruption, local legends, and how towns that were built up for religious retreats exploded into underworlds of crime.

Greg has previously served on the board of directors for the Atlantic Highlands Historical Society, a town which was considered the capital of bootlegging on the East Coast. He has spent years researching the subject, which has included interviewing descendants of those involved...on both sides of the law! The Shore's connection to Vito Genovese, the mobster who inspired "The Godfather", will also be examined.
