About this Event
Mobilities, Minds & Health is a scientific gathering on migrant and displaced communities’ health and wellbeing, bringing together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and community actors. The event opens with a plenary dialogue on 12 March 2026 (2–5pm), followed by a full-day conference on 13 March 2026 featuring thematic sessions on equity in migration studies, participatory and creative research methods, decolonial and adaptive approaches, mental health and wellbeing, and evidence-to-policy translation in contexts of precarity and mobility.
Conference themes include:
- Advancing equity in migration studies — determinants of migrant health, intersectionality, gender, disability, class, race and social inequalities.
- Inclusive, decolonial & adaptive methodologies — ethical, linguistic and contextual research adaptations, creative methods and decolonising approaches.
- Participatory & co-creative methods for transformative action — community-led, arts-based and co-produced interventions and capacity-building.
- Theoretical & conceptual advancements in migration health — new frameworks on precarity, wellbeing, care pathways and socio-political contexts.
- New knowledge on migrants’ health & social/ecological determinants — mental health, violence, trauma, resilience and wellbeing experiences.
- Policy translation & practice transformation — reviews, policy appraisals and using evidence to inform practice and decision-making.
