The District 8 Mobile Wellness Unit (MWU) will provide health services to the public at no out-of-pocket cost from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13 at the Grace Center in Ardmore.
The MWU offers wellness checks, minor illness treatment, immunizations for children and adults, STI/HIV screenings, sports physicals, mental health support, nutrition education, as well as health screenings for diabetes, cholesterol and more.
The unit, a self-contained clinic on wheels, is an extension of the Carter County Health Department and is staffed with a team of nurses and a customer assistance representative.

All services are provided at no out-of-pocket cost, no appointment necessary; however, appointments may be made in advance.
In addition to services offered on the unit, MWU staff can provide resource referrals for diabetes management, maternal and prenatal health and early childhood development.
