Save the date!
We’re excited to welcome The James Lung Cancer Screening Mobile Unit to our community on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 from 9am to 1pm at the Ross County Health District.
This mobile unit offers lung cancer screenings using a low-dose CT scan—with no needles and no preparation required. Screening can help detect lung cancer at an earlier stage, when it’s more treatable.
You may be eligible for a lung screening if you:
· Are 50–80 years old
· Are a current smoker with a history of smoking one pack a day for 20 years
· OR are a former smoker who quit within the last 15 years
Screenings are available once a year and are billed to insurance. Results are shared through MyChart or by mail, and patients are contacted directly if follow-up is needed.
In Ross County in 2025, cancer was the second leading cause of death in Ross County, with lung cancer being the leading type of cancer-related death (only separated from the leading cause – heart disease – by 1 death).
To learn more or schedule a screening, call 614-293-6939 or visit go.osu.edu/lungcancerscreening.
