—
Each year, Schoeni Projects invites an artist to take part in our MLS Artist Residency (MLSAR) — a six-week programme built around process, not product. We approach it as a dialogue: a space for the artist to observe, experiment, and be challenged, and for us to learn alongside them.
Our 2026 resident is Hong Kong artist Go Hung, whose practice transforms found and unconventional materials — cardboard, packaging, street debris — into sculptures and public interventions that speak to city life, wealth inequality, and what it means to live under pressure.
On 22 August, Go Hung opens up his process to you.
The afternoon begins with a hands-on artist-led workshop at Omnibus Theatre. This is not a passive experience — expect to work with your hands, engage with materials you wouldn't normally think twice about, and make something that means something. Go Hung will guide you through the same instincts that drive his own practice: observation, resourcefulness, and a sharp eye for what gets overlooked.
Afterwards, the group will walk together (5 minutes from Omnibus) to the MLS Residency Home — the space where Go Hung has been living and working for the past month. You will see works in progress, hear about his experience of London as a Hong Kong artist, and get an honest look at what a residency actually looks like from the inside.
