This event is cross-posted, and space is limited so please RSVP to reserve your spot!Join us for our MLK Day of Service event as we partner with Habitat for Humanity of NW Metro Atlanta to transform an unused, overgrown area in Mableton into a sustainable food forest!
🌳 Planting for a Purpose: Together, we will remove invasive plant species to make way for planting a diverse and thriving ecosystem of fruit trees, edible plants, and pollinator-friendly vegetation. Our efforts will not only enhance the beauty of the area, but also provide an inviting space for the community to enjoy nature while providing a free source of fresh, local produce.
🌻No Experience Needed: Bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to get your hands dirty! Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. There will be kid-friendly volunteer activities. Whether you're an avid environmentalist or this is your first time working with environmental restoration, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn, connect, and make a lasting impact on the community.
🌿What to Bring: We will provide all tools. If you have gardening gloves, please bring them but if not, we will provide gloves for you to use! Please bring a refillable water bottle for hydration, sunscreen, closed-toe shoes, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
