This course is for Certified Manual Lymph Drainage Therapists (CMLDTs) of the Vodder Method to learn how to modify MLD for people who have had lymph nodes removed or radiated during cancer treatment and are at risk for or have mild lymphedema. Indications and Contraindications will be presented. Treatment progressions and rerouting for arm lymphedema supine and sidelying and primary and secondary leg lymphedema will be demonstrated and practiced. The 4 basic Vodder strokes and their combinations will be reviewed.
The purpose of this course is to give CMLDTs the tools and information to appropriately and effectively provide MLD sessions to people who are at risk for or have lymphedema due to cancer treatment or other reasons.
