Rules:
- Each game will start with a ‘jump ball’
- Man-to-man’ defence must be played at all times.
- Players are not allowed to move whilst holding the ball. Players must dribble/bounce the ball to move with it.
- Players may not bounce the ball with 2 hands simultaneously. Once a player has stopped dribbling they must either pass or shoot, they are not allowed to begin dribbling again.
- Substitutions may occur during a stoppage in play at any time.
- Games will be played on full basketball courts using regulation height baskets size.
- Adjusted scoring will be used: A made basket will be 2 points. A shot which hits the rim (regardless of how many times it hits the rim) but does not go in, will be worth1 point. It will be treated as a made basket.
- After a basket has been scored the team that has just been scored against will be awarded possession and must pass it in from under their basket.
- Defenders cannot take the ball from a player who is holding it in two hands. They are however allowed to intercept passes and knock the ball away from a player who is dribbling.
- Referees and officials will call fouls; their decision is final. Basketball is technically non-contact although accidental contact will occur and should not be penalised.
- All fouls will be taken out on the side lines. There is no limit to the number of team or personal fouls in each game.
- Event organisers will have the final decision on any disputes and have the right to change the competition format.
