Mitigating A Smoke and Odor Loss is a 3-hour course that informs insurance professionals of the smoke (soot) and odor mitigation process so that they may provide better service to the insureds and provide coverage best suited for the insured when selling a policy. The course covers the terminology of the industry along with common misconceptions people have of smoke and odor losses, the benefits of mitigating quickly, a look inside a fire through the video “Fire Power,” the chemistry involved in a fire, properly mitigating smoke and soot, and properly mitigating odors. The participants will create a plan of how to better assist insureds when they have a loss.
