Synopsis
Lima, 1965. Norma, a privileged Franco-Peruvian woman, sees her comfortable life collapse after her husband leaves her for another woman. Rejected by the elite society she once belonged to and forced to face financial hardship, she opens a restaurant in her home as a means of survival.
Alongside a Nikkei chef, an Indigenous cook and an Afro-Peruvian driver, Norma begins to discover the people, flavours and traditions she had been raised to overlook. What begins as necessity becomes a transformative journey through Peru’s diverse cultural identity, challenging her prejudices and changing her life forever.
Written and directed by Ricardo de Montreuil and starring Bárbara Mori, Christian Meier and César Ballumbrosio, Mistura received the awards for Best Feature and Best Actress at the Newport Beach Film Festival, the Audience Award for Best Film at the Durango Independent Film Festival, and Best Film at the Sarasota Film Festival.
