If God doesn't release his wrath during the annual Perseid meteor shower during August and end it all, then it's game on for the weekend party we're planning August 15 - 17. We're planning all 80's music all weekend long at the pool, an all-80's trivia night to test how much shit you remember from the 80's, or how much you heard your parents tell you about how bodacious the 80's were. Test your skills against others as to 80's pop culture, movies, music, cultural icons and all maybe even some 80's commercial knowledge.
Wear your original OP's, if you got 'em. Bring your Rubik's cubes and yellow Sony AM/FM cassette players that you bought at Sears back in 1984. Bring anything you can to rewind the clock a few decades as we re-live the 80's in all its glory.
If you're too young to remember the 80's, it was a magical, mystical renaissance decade where ET phoned home, fast food giants battled it out with "Where's the Beef?" commercials, and VCR's were all the rage. Madonna, Duran Duran, Prince and Michael Jackson rules the airwaves. The closest thing we had to a cell phone was a pager, there was no internet, no wifi, no TikTok, no facebook, no Insta, no Starbucks, no Chipotle and no iphones.
But we did have pop music, MTV, Madonna, ET, the Rubik's Cube and the TRS-80.
Come on join us as we do a retro-rewind and re-live the 80's for a weekend and celebrate the survival of the planet through yet another doomsday cataclysmic cosmic meteoric event!
