Mark your calendar for an all-day program on July 18th at Burr Oak Woods Nature Center (Blue Springs) , “Missouri Monarch Mission”!
In the morning, enjoy children’s crafts, and nature walks on trails by the Nature Center. Check out the Monarch Watch garden for ideas for your own! See some artwork, too!
Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at a shady picnic table.
Beginning at Noon, there will be a speakers’ program in the auditorium. We have three great speakers:
Kristen Baum, Monarch Watch Director
Lilly Germeroth, Missouri Prairie Foundation
Jessica Poush, The Nature Conservancy—Missouri
The Thomas Hart Benton Group of the Missouri Chapter Sierra Club has been advocating for better monarch habitat for several years, and we are looking for ways to monitor and promote migration through Missouri this fall.
