Join Trip Leaders (and sisters) Marge Mack and Teresa Haliburton on a beautiful backwater stretch of the Mississippi River around Grey Cloud Island in search of the giant water lotus. This is an out and back paddle. No shuttle required. This will be around a 4 - 5 hr paddle, depending on wind and current, plus an Apres Paddle at Park Place Sports Bar and Grill. Teresa and Marge will take us to a backwater channel plus a stretch of the main Mississippi River channel along Robinson Rocks (the only 30-40' dolomite rocks on the Mississippi) in search of the giant lotus bloom.
Please arrive early to unload boats. There is good parking (no fee) and a porta-potty at Lion's Levee Park.
Bring snacks, lots of water, sunscreen and a hat. We will make a rest stop and take a break on the river then go to the Park Place Sports Bar for Apres Paddle/ lunch
Skill Level: Advanced beginner/Intermediate (12'+ boats recommended for the main channel).
