Billy Dankert started drumming for Minnesota roots rock band Gear Daddies in 1984 and has been with the band ever since. Already a songwriter with great instincts, Dankert also wrote a handful of songs for Gear Daddies records, including the enduring classic, M. Zellar's Favorite, "Time Heals." (Not familiar? You have a great surprise coming, should you follow through by looking it up.)
Billy released his first solo record, “Bowling Shoes Blues,” in 1993 after the band’s initial breakup. Since then, Billy has released six albums of solo material, his newest album, "All Eight," in 2024.
Billy Dankert and the High Mids play songs that span Billy's years as a songwriter, all fitting under the "indie rock" umbrella.
