Checkmate! ♟️ The University of Mississippi DeSoto, Northwest Mississippi Community College, and the Mississippi Scholastic Chess Association (MSCA) invite you to the Mississippi & Mid-South Summer Open Chess Tournament!
This premier regional event is sanctioned and supported by the MSCA, ensuring a competitive and professionally organized experience for players of all ages and skill levels.
🏆 AWARDS & SCHOLARSHIPS:
Trophies for the top three (3) players in each section.
High School Winners: Ole Miss Summer Program Outreach Scholarships awarded.
Elementary Winners: Northwest Summer Day Camp Scholarships awarded.
DETAILS:
Sections: * UNRATED: K-5, K-8, K-12, & Collegiate (Perfect for beginners!)
RATED: OPEN & U1000 (Requires current US Chess Membership; available on-site or at https://new.uschess.org/join-us-chess)
Format: Four (4) Swiss-paired rounds of G/25d5.
Entry Fee: * FREE if registered by June 1st!
$25 thereafter and for on-site registration.
Schedule: On-site registration and check-in from 8:45 AM – 9:45 AM. All players must be checked in by 9:30 AM. First round begins at 10:00 AM.
