An Aurora Players Yuletide treat! This light, heartwarming play takes up two years after Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice left off. Four of the five Bennet sister (Jane, Elizabeth, Mary and Lydia) along with spouses Fitzwilliam Darcy and Charles Bingley meet for Christmas at the Darcys' mansion in Pemberley. There, they are joined by an unexpected guest who proves to be Mary’s intellectual match, sparking her hopes for independence and, possibly, love.
With a blend of romance, wit, and holiday warmth, Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley explores themes of family, self-discovery, and love, while giving Mary Bennet the chance to shine as a heroine in her own right. The play is a delightful tribute to Jane Austen’s characters, capturing the timeless humor and social nuances of Austen’s world in a fresh, holiday-inspired story.
