About this Event

MIRROR MIRROR is a large-scale immersive installation exploring self-perception, illness, identity and the shifting internal narratives through which we understand ourselves.

Thirty-six illuminated mirrors form a circular psychological landscape, surrounded by 250 red and clear lights. Across their surfaces, handwritten messages in lipstick capture fragments of internal thought: vulnerability, confidence, fear, desire, uncertainty, resilience and the changing ways we perceive ourselves.

The work emerged from a period of illness and physical change that forced Ornagh out of the momentum of everyday life. Her body changed, familiar expressions of identity became inaccessible, and periods of stillness created an unfamiliar confrontation with the self.

The mirror becomes more than a physical reflection. It represents the moments in which movement stops and we are left with our internal landscape — the thoughts, judgements and stories through which we understand who we are.

As visitors move around the installation, Ornagh's words remain on the glass while the person reflected behind them continually changes.

Through what lens are you seeing yourself today?
