Please join us on the longest night of the year to celebrate community, light, and music with Minor Mishap’s Winter Solstice Lantern Parade!
Parking Recommendation: parking near Pease Park is quite limited. If you are able to walk a bit, we recommend parking at 1301 1/2 Shoal Creek Blvd, Austin, TX 78701. There's a nice trail that goes to Pease Park that allows you to walk UNDER Lamar. (0.5 mile)
We encourage you to make flame-free lanterns in the days leading up to the event! (It’s a good crafting project to do with the kiddos!) Gather your lights, lanterns, and bairn and meet us in Pease Park. We will start at 6 pm, This is a litter-free, trash-free, and flame-free event. Please take your beautiful lanterns home with you! The Winter Solstice Lantern Parade is a free and family-friendly community event! All are welcome.
The parade lasts about an hour, and the route is quite short and on the main gravel paths of the park (0.4 mile)! This is to ensure it is accessible to all, and doesn't wear out the littles too much.
Minor Mishap Marching Band is a 25-piece renegade brass band playing original tunes inspired by everything from pickled beets to disco.
