MiniVan 2025: A Vancouver Micro Dance Odyssey

MiniVan is Vancouver’s Micro-Fusion Dance Weekend! Mar 28-30, 2025

Micro-Fusion is a subtle partner dance that focuses on small movements, deep presence, and intimate attunement with your partner and the music.

Your weekend pass gets you three nights of dancing, Saturday Workshop, Sunday Lab, and unlimited musical hugs!

We're excited to welcome back Ash West from Santa Rosa, CA to lead our Saturday Micro Workshop!

Micro can be a great intro to partner dance, there are no steps and it’s all about connection. Micro often uses full body contact, but is not required; this may change the difficulty levels for the workshop. The workshops will be taught ambidancetrous; everybody leads & follows. Our 3 classes will cover a range of Micro topics, good for new and experienced Micro dancers. They are:
Sync In - micro fundamentals
Shaping Softly - gentle connection using space
Big Little Accents - fancy micro moves

ACCESSIBILITY:

All venues are accessible except Friday House Party (short flight of stairs) & Coalescence Sunday. (bathrooms upstairs) Saturday House Party has stairs to enter but also an elevator.

HEALTH ISSUES/COVID POLICY
Please do not attend if you are not feeling well. Masks are welcome but optional. Tickets are refundable up to 3 days ahead on Eventbrite. Please contact us if you have missed the refund deadline and are unable to attend for health reasons.

Upon first arrival we are requiring a negative covid test. Must be taken same day, with name and date if bringing a photo. Rapid tests will be available at the door, please allow extra time to process. Last year we did catch a couple people previous to their arrival.

We are not checking vaccinations, though we hope you have a covid booster within the last year, and this season's flu shot. Please exercise discretion the week leading up to the event and consider limiting your exposure, there will be lots of long hugs!
