Minifarm Open Hours, Winter 2024-2025

Collectively, open hours are fairly informal and unstructured. On any given day, expect a mix of pre-planned activities and extra time for ad hoc activities, tours, or conversations.

Throughout the winter, likely practices include:

• Establish and tend forest patches
• Small building projects
• Scarify and stratify seeds
• Take and tend hardwood cuttings
• Pollard trees
• Make biochar
• Start and tend compost such as
• Static compost (for trees and bushes)
• Kitchen compost (for herbaceous plants)
• Leaf mold
• Vermicompost
• JADAM liquid fertilizer
• Johnson-Su bioreactor
• Make and apply compost extract and tea
• Install and maintain irrigation
• Plant trees and bushes
• Process and preserve yields like
• Native desert flora
• Herbal teas
• Sugar / jaggery
• Olives
• Moringa leaves
• Acorns

Kids are invited, too. They will be under your supervision.

Open hours are free.

There is plenty of street parking along Jasmine (on the north) and Pima (on the east).
