Make tiny shrines with big meaning in this magical mixed media workshop led by artist Brittany Heskett (Papermoonies)!
You'll create two miniature matchbox shrines—small enough to fit in your hand, powerful enough to hold memories, symbols, or wishes. Brittany will guide you through layered techniques using ink, acrylics, vintage ephemera, and personal keepsakes. All materials are provided, but you're encouraged to bring meaningful items like a photo, a tiny trinket, or even a lock of hair to personalize your pieces.
We’ll close with a short, optional intention-setting to ground your creations in meaning.
What You’ll Learn:
• How to build two sacred mini-shrines
• Mixed media techniques using paint, ink, and ephemera
• Creating with personal meaning and spiritual intention
• Simple intention-setting practices
What to Bring:
• An X-Acto knife
• Personal photo or small object(s) you'd like to include
Materials Provided:
• 2 matchboxes, vintage ephemera, paint, ink, gesso, magnets, brushes, adhesives
About the Instructor:
Brittany Heskett, aka Papermoonies, is a multidisciplinary artist with a background in Art, Media, and Design from Cal State University San Marcos. Originally from San Diego, she has curated, taught, and exhibited widely across California. Her work explores historical material cultures through mark making and layered storytelling. Now based in the Gulf South, Brittany brings her thoughtful, soulful approach to every creative gathering.
