Pieces and parts, found objects and items from your recycling bin all deserve a closer look!Any and all of these things can work together to create a composition of interesting shapes, lines, and shadows! During a two day workshop, participants will be introduced to and inspired by sculptor Louise Nevelson, an artist who used found materials to create large sculptures.
Using various items, you will design and build your own small scale sculpture within a shoebox. When sculptures are complete, we will share and admire them as a group!
We encourage everyone to bring materials that you would like to use as part of your sculpture. Anything we can hot glue together will work! Examples: Bottle caps, clothes pins, puzzle piecs, matchbox cares, small pill bottles, random pieces from board games, crayons, buttons, small boxes, pieces of jewelry, paper towel rolls, small wooden blocks, ping pong balls, small metal cans. Art Space 36 will provide shoeboxes, additional materials and all other supplies needed to create these sculptures.
This workshop is perfect for artists ages 15 and older.
Group size is limited to 10 participants so make sure you sign up soon!
