Mini Masters Vincent Van Gogh Sunflowers : 8th April

Step into the world of Vincent van Gogh and explore the vibrant beauty of sunflowers in our Sunflower Splendour workshop, designed especially for young artists. This engaging session invites children to delve into the artistic legacy of van Gogh, discovering how the simplicity and brilliance of sunflowers inspired some of his most famous works. Vincent was captivated by the rustic charm and vivid hues of farmland and countryside, which played a significant role in shaping his artistic vision. The fields, with their ever-changing light and colour, provided van Gogh with an endless source of inspiration, reflecting the beauty of nature's cycles and the power of vibrant, natural landscapes!

His series of sunflower paintings, celebrated for their expressive use of colour and texture, were influenced by his deep appreciation for rural life and its connection to the human spirit.

In this workshop, children will learn about van Gogh's unique painting techniques and his love for the countryside. They will have the opportunity to create their own sunflower masterpieces using a variety of media, including paints and pastels on quality A3 paper. As they paint, they'll explore the themes of nature, beauty, and creativity that were central to van Gogh's work.

***Because of the drying time required, children participating in the three-day workshop will achieve the best finished results. However, sculptures can be refined at home!
