Join Museum staff on a historic bike ride! This intermediate bike ride goes around Mount Royal and through the Tenmile Canyon, exploring the mines that once operated there. This is a great activity for visitors and locals who want to learn more about Frisco’s mining history, the natural environment, and the railroads of the area. The route is just over 5 miles round-trip with plenty of water breaks and scenic views making it a fun morning for the whole family.
The Mines of Mount Royal bike tour starts at 9:00am at the Schoolhouse Museum. The guided bike tour will begin at the Schoolhouse Museum and follow the Recreation Path for 2 miles of gradual uphill incline with multiple stops at the many mines along the way. Once we reach the final mine stop, participants can return to the Schoolhouse with Museum staff on a fully downhill route or continue up the Recreation Path towards Copper Mountain on their own.
Advance registration is required. Registration closes at 5:00pm the day before.
