Something colorful is coming to the Mineral Point Railroad Museum!
The grounds of the Mineral Point Railroad Museum will soon be filled with a unique piece of railroad history as collectors gather for the Mineral Point Insulator Show 2026.
Glass insulators once lined telegraph and power lines along railroads across the country, helping keep the trains—and the messages that guided them—moving safely. Today they’re prized by collectors for their incredible colors, shapes, and history. During the show, you’ll be able to see hundreds of these fascinating artifacts up close.
While the Insulator Show is not sponsored by the museum, we’re delighted to host the event on our grounds. Even better, the museum will be open during the show, and we’ll be offering tours throughout the day so visitors can explore the depot and exhibits that tell the story of railroading in Mineral Point and the community.
