Like Shambhala, songwriting is a source of happiness. In this month’s Mindfulness in Action, singer-songwriter, Sabina Barton, dives into creativity and vulnerability. She discusses her songwriting process: the obstacles and “aha” moments, and how cultivating a more consistent meditation practice has helped in getting back to the basics as well as re-establishing a love for creating songs.
Using sense-bound activities to open our insightful and aware mind, attendees will be encouraged to share. Please bring paper and something to write with.
Artist Bio: Sabina Barton is a songwriter and music teacher based in Birmingham. She plays piano and sings lyrically-driven tunes that combine indie-pop with folk and jazz. Her style has been described as quirky, and her album, “Sea of Paper,” recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. She enjoys performing originals and arranging covers, and, is one half of singer-songwriter duo "Sabina & Paul."
