Join me at Santosa for a 2.5 hours workshop of mindfulness & calligraphy where you will learn the essentials of modern calligraphy using a brush pen and how it can contribute to a mindfulness practice.
Calligraphy is the perfect way to get yourself back into the present moment, away from mental chatter. Calligraphy requires a deep focus and slow movements to place the right amount of pressure to obtain the thick and thin strokes forming each letters.
You will learn:
- how to set up your space / hold pen and paper for comfort
- the basic strokes that form letters
- how to connect your breath with the pen strokes
- practising writing the alphabet,
- joining letters to form words,
- practising writing inspirational words and phrases.
Using the technique you've learned, you will then write your own positive message on a paper banner.
All materials are provided and for you to keep to continue your practice at home. A Coffee/Tea and a cake from Santosa is also included.
Your calligraphy kit includes:
- workbook with practice sheets, templates and guidelines
- 1 brush pen
- paper banner
There will be different sizes and colours of brush pens to use during the workshop.
The workshop is suitable for beginners and it doesn't require neat handwriting or drawing skills. You will be guided through the essentials of modern calligraphy with demonstration and 1-2-1 guidance.
