The Mindfulness Based Living Course is an 8-week programme designed specifically to help you work with your mind more easily and integrate mindfulness into daily life. The curriculum follows a specific structure and includes experiential practices and exercises that also incorporate cultivating loving kindness and compassion towards ourselves and others.
To get the most out of this course and gain the maximum benefit, it is important that you have the space in your life and can commit to the course. You will receive a certificate of completion when a minimum of 6 sessions are attended.
As a charity our aim is to offer subsidized places to make mindfulness courses more accessible to the local community. The course fee is £115 for eight weeks incorporating 1 hour and 30 minute weekly sessions, a one day retreat and an optional follow up session one month after the course has ended. We also offer a concession rate for people on low income for £56.00 and for state benefits/no income a pay what you can option.
The course starts on Wednesday 4th February 8.00pm - 9.30pm and ends on Wednesday 25th March 2026.
Research has shown and past course members who have completed the eight week mindfulness course report:
* Reductions in stress, anxiety, depression and pain levels
* Improved level of self-awareness and emotional regulation
* Enhanced quality and duration of sleep
* Increased energy levels, focus and concentration
* Greater optimism, self-confidence and improved self-esteem
A full course manual and guided audio practices are provided during the course and for lifetime use after the course ends. We will also explore many concepts and practical ideas to integrate mindfulness into everyday life at home, work and relationships.
The course also includes a day retreat of practice and an optional follow up session one month after the course ends.
The course will be led by Julie Griffin, Mindfulness Teacher accredited with the British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches (BAMBA): https://bamba.org.uk/user/julie-griffin/ .
Julie has worked as a Mindfulness Teacher in college and university settings for 8 years and co-developed the University of Glasgow, Mindfulness: A Focus on Adolescents course. She also teaches mindfulness and compassion in public, private and third sector organisations.
Comfortable supportive chairs and a variety of optional meditation cushions, mats and meditation chairs will be provided to suit all levels of mobility and comfort. You are encouraged to wear loose fitting or comfortable clothes and bring any additional items including warm socks and water bottle.
