Mindfulness & Movement

Led by an internationally-trained Dance/Movement Therapist, this empowering movement session aims to provide a safe and nurturing environment where participants will learn embodiment and sensing skills from the expressive therapies world. Mindfulness + Movement provides participants with movement language and mindfulness principles that they may take with them beyond the class - into their personal dance, yoga, sound healing, pilates, somatic movement, meditation, or any other healing practices.
This is a one-hour guided mindfulness and movement journey accompanied by eclectic music, with an opening and closing circle. Starting with grounding principles, breathwork, and body scan, then moving into guided movement exercises, participants will gradually be led from guidance into a free-flowing dance/movement session. Clients are invited to be mindful of their mental, physical and emotional bodies as their dance unfolds. At times the dance may be playful, soft, chaotic, challenging, or pure fun - so come with an open heart! Participants are encouraged to follow their bodies and be curious about what may emerge for them. We finish with brief sharing to honor the dance, and to close the experience together. Participants are welcome to bring a journal.
