Mindfulness, the meditation technique taught by the Buddha more than 2,500 years ago, is now increasingly studied in the west for supporting mental and physical health. This talk will explore recent scientific data, how mindfulness is revered in Buddhism, Yoga, and Ayurveda, and how ancient traditions identify a lack of mindfulness as the root cause of physical and mental imbalances.
Bio:
Michael received his Bachelor's Degree from Florida State University and is a certified Ayurvedic Practitioner from Southern California University of Health Sciences. He completed his meditation teacher training at UCLA's Mindful Awareness Research Center (MARC), and is a certified mindfulness teacher through the International Mindfulness Teacher's Association (IMTA). He spent 20 years between New York City, Los Angeles, and Koh Phangan, Thailand, and is now based in Ubud.
