Mindful Social Media Workshop with Shalaka!

Join us for a mindful social media workshop that will help you in navigating the world of continuous distractions through mindfulness practices. It will include movement where appropriate and cover the following:

• Physical markers to bring awareness to your own behaviors
• Breathing exercises that help you find center and groundedness while you are out and about
• Reflective meditation to identify patterns and redirect behaviors like the “fear of missing out”
• Gratitude-based meditation to build a positive body image
• Ending with community and connection

Instructor bio:

Shalaka is an Indian born meditation and yoga teacher. She worked as a software engineer for about 15 years. The birth of her son led to some introspection in her life and made her seek out formal training in the practice of Yoga. It changed her life as she discovered her path to happiness. She's excited every single day to share this life-altering practice with others.

Shalaka aims to bring authenticity to the ancient yoga and meditation practices with her Indian background. But as a student of science, she embraces modern scientific studies with open arms and strives to remain up-to-date. Her ideal world would have the perfect melange of Eastern and Western cultures. She uses strong foundational practices and makes them more practical and usable in the modern world.
