Mindful Nature Journaling Hike at Owl's Head Park (Brooklyn)
About this Event
Join me for a hike through Owl's Head Park. We'll enter the park and hike 30 minutes pausing for a 5 minute meditative breathing exercise followed by a 20 minute nature journaling session where we'll write, sketch, trace, doodle, or notate our impressions. Then we'll hike back out.

MEET UP LOCATION:
We'll meet at 2:00 pm at the R station stop Bay Ridge Avenue Station at 4th Ave & Bay Ridge Ave in front of the Rite Aid. From there we'll walk 4 blocks to the Park Entrance. If you're driving feel free to meet us at the Owl's Head Park Entrance at Colonial Road & 68th Street around 2:15.
- Wear layers, sunscreen/hats, socks, and comfortable walking shoes
- Public Restrooms 5 minutes into the hike
- Pencils & journals are provided (or feel free to bring your own)

Mindful Nature Journaling Hikes engage participants with nature threefold; the hike immerses us in natural surroundings, the meditation quiets the nervous system, and the journaling provides the means to closely observe and thereby connect more deeply with nature.
Jessica Dalrymple is a Brooklyn based artist, teacher, and horticulturist. She teaches botanical drawing and leads Nature Journaling Hikes through NYC parks and green spaces. She has taught and led events for nature forward organizations including: Gowanus Dredgers, The Old Stone House Brooklyn, The Gowanus Canal Conservancy, Human Impacts Institute, Molly Oliver Flowers, Remedies Herb Shop, Trestle Art Space, and more.
