Mindful Movement and Dance

This class is a celebration of movement through breath, music and play. We will begin with connecting our intention to our bodies and transition to breath to movement stretching and strengthening exercises. A quick water break will reset us before we dive into a movement based exercise and a themed dance we build throughout the rest of the class.

This section of class will consistently move - challenging your cardio, memory and allowance to let go and play within the movement. We’ll explore pairing different musical themes with our intention to move.

Get ready to move and groove to an array of musical genres from 60’s pop rock, 70’s rock n roll, 80’s dance, 90’s r&b and hip hop, and 2000’s pop, to Salsa vibes, Reggaeton, Afro jazz, and Alt pop. By the end of class we will have a full piece we can dance together, fully letting go in the music and movement.

Angela has an extensive background in dance. She grew up dancing professionally in Los Angeles from a very young age and enjoyed dancing in films, TV shows, commercials and live shows for over 20 years. Trained and experienced in various classical and contemporary styles of dance, Angela teaches all levels and styles of Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Musical Theater. From choreographing annual musicals at Malibu High for several years to teaching at UCLA’s Wooden Center, Brentwood School and California Dance Theatre, Angela has continued to share her passion for the art and discipline of dance with communities throughout the LA area.

When Angela isn’t teaching, she’s either painting or creating calm and intentional spaces as the founder and lead professional organizer of Glo, Green Living Organized.

After getting a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from UCLA and finding ways to develop her own personal growth, she began organizing homes and soon created her own company. As a dancer, artist and professional organizer, she is always interested in finding new ways to connect the mind, body and space. Her class in mindful movement is a manifestation of her expertise and passion for healing through dance, and aims to raise energetic levels through collective breath, movement and rhythm.
