Mindful Morning Walk On the 606 Trail
About this Event
Meet at Walsh Park around dawn for a few minutes of stretching or individual body movement, followed by a short session (10-15 minutes) of sitting meditation practice. Basic meditation guidance will be available. Beginners welcome.
For the benefit of your and others' experience, phones should be either left home, switched to Do Not Disturb, or switched off.
At 6am, we will walk single-file as a group, west along the 606 trail. We will walk at a leisurely pace- not to quickly. Silence is suggested for the duration of the walking meditation. After doubling back near the Humboldt Access Point, we will end our silent walk at the green space and trail access point known as Park 567, near Milwaukee and Leavitt. Here, we will do a simple debriefing and sharing of gratitude.
After this, the session is complete, though this is an opportunity to enjoy coffee and conversation, journaling, or sketchbooking, at the park or inside one of the nearby coffee shops. Anyone who simply wishes to continue walking back to Walsh Park is welcome to do so, with their own intention and practice.
