About this Event
Forest bathing - translated from the Japanese Shinrin-Yoku - is a mindful, sensory stroll through nature. Rather than getting from A to B with your head somewhere else, it's an invitation to slow right down, tune into your senses, and let the marsh reveal itself to you. When we do, something shifts - joy, wonder and awe have a way of showing up.
Science backs it up too: time spent immersed in nature boosts mood, reduces stress, and supports our immune system. And it's not about how long you spend outside - it's about the quality of that connection.
This session will be guided by certified guides from Norfolk and Waveney Mind, who will gently lead you through the marshes - perhaps discovering corners you've never noticed before. There's no agenda, no destination, just an opportunity to simply be in nature. Come curious, come open, and leave feeling more connected - to the marsh, and to yourself.
End the stroll with tea and reflection in a warm, welcoming group of like-minded people.
This event is suitable for adults only.
Please meet at the BMX track at Sloughbottom Park, What3Words ///riots.warns.thanks
Everyone’s welcome at Sweetbriar Marshes
As part of our commitment to making nature accessible for all, and to ensure local communities benefit from Sweetbriar Marshes, we’ve introduced the following ticketing model:
Free Community Tickets
We want everyone to feel welcome at Sweetbriar Marshes.
If you live within around a mile (20 minutes walk) of the site - or if cost would make it difficult for you to join, please choose a free community ticket.
No questions asked - just come and enjoy the event.
We’ve noticed that a few free places sometimes go unused, and as a charity, that can really add up. If you can’t make it, please cancel your ticket at least 24 hours before the event so someone else can take your place. We often run a waiting list and would love to offer your spot to another local resident.
Standard Tickets (Members / Non-Members)
If you don’t live locally, or you’re able to pay and would like to support our work, we’d really appreciate a small contribution towards keeping these events accessible for everyone.
Your ticket helps us cover basic costs and continue offering free community places at future events.
Come and be part of your local wild space - everyone’s welcome.
Accessibility
We want our events, and nature itself, to be accessible to everyone. If you have specific needs or requirements, please get in touch at [email protected] so we can support you wherever possible. Please be aware that the natural terrain and access conditions may limit what we are able to provide on site.
