Why Breast Cancer Screening is Essential
  • Black women are more likely to be diagnosed at younger ages.
  • Black women are disproportionately affected by aggressive subtypes of breast cancer like Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC)
  • Mortality rates remain higher due to later-stage diagnosis and barriers to timely care.
  • Regular mammograms and self-exams help catch cancer early when it’s most treatable.

Take Action Today! Don’t wait for symptoms—get screened, know your risks, and spread the word!

IMPORTANT BREAST SCREENING FORMATION:

Although it is not mandatory, if you have a healthcard please bring it if you are interested in the screening mammogram that is being offered during the event.

Mammogram Screening

Individuals who are between 40-74 years of age can self-refer and enroll in the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) where screening mammograms typically are performed every 1 to 2 years. For more information on the OBSP -

If you are outside of this age group and would like a mammogram, a physician onsite will be there to help assess if this is right for you.
