The best tango's, played by the best DJ's in the wonderful ambiance of De Danswerkplaats in Amersfoort. That's Milonga La Roca. The place to go to for every really die-hard dancer. Every 3rd saturday of the month. Easy to reach by train and car (free parking), good restaurant in the neighborhoud, vibrant atmosphere next to the old town. The music stops earlier if less than 15 people are left. And if very busy at 02 we might add another 2 tandas or so.
Entrance 12 euro.
I should have asked her years and years earlier. I was blown away already the first time she played. Time to introduce her to you, dear La Roca dancers! Deborah is phenomenal, knows all the music by heart, knows what has to be played next. Knows what you need on the floor.
PLEASE bring your own waterbottle. There's a bar for other drinks. You can, if you want, pay via pin.
At 23.30 (not a minute earlier!) you can join in without reservation, entrance 5 euro.
Reservation: I have max 120 dancers, balanced. Make your reservation via tangokalender. If full, you can sent me an email or PM. Last minute often people cancel, so there's still hope.... If you sign up solo: it's a balanced event so you might end up at the waitinglist until we're balanced again.
As you know La Roca is a place for Close Embrace/Ronda lovers. It's always extremely crowded. So i do expect (and so do all dancers) that you dance as tight as you can and no movements with a foot in the air. And ask with Mirada/Cabaceo. When entering the dancefloor (leaders and followers) make sure the leader behind you gives you space to enter. So please make contact first. Dear leaders, choose where to dance: inside or outside ronda. No changing of lines please! You might think you are good at changing lines when there's space, but think of the dancers where you suddenly appear where they thought they had some space. Don't give your follower big and/or upward movements. Followers, keep your feet on the ground and only follow the lead so your partner can control the complete movement of the couple.
So we can keep the floor nice and 'quiet' and everybody will have a wonderful La Roca.
If all of this isn't your way of dancing, i absolutely would like to meet you at other milonga's but consider La Roca as not your place to go to.
Adress: Oude Fabriekstraat 20 (entrance on 3 sites, via gate Prodent at Kleine Koppel 70, via little gate-house at Oliemolenhof or via backstage gate at Overijsselsestraat. (free) parking: Put on your tomtom: Kleine Koppel corner Brabantsestraat. It brings you exactly at the right spot. Parking is free, walk through the gate towards restaurant Hoog Vuur and take the blue door on your right.
If you have an electric car, you can park at Oliemolenhof. Go through the little gate-house towards Hoog Vuur, to your right is the blue door.
And of course: Everyone must adopt a respectful behavior: Respect the physical integrity of others, show no intrusive behavior, no verbal or physical violence. In case of any trouble like harassment, any other disturbance, non-respect of your person or witnessed misconduct on any other person, you are most encouraged to report it to the organization so that we can maintain a safe and peaceful event.
