The City of Morgantown’s Engineering & Public Works Department will host a giveaway of surplus materials on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the City Garage, located at 200 M-Tec Drive.
This one-day-only event offers residents an opportunity to pick up free asphalt millings and large scrap material for personal use. The giveaway is intended to support community cleanup and repair efforts.
Millings will be limited to 10 tons per person. No other materials will be available at this event.
This giveaway is strictly for residential use only. No tri-axle trucks or commercial vehicles will be permitted. Resale of materials is prohibited.
“Our goal is to serve the community in meaningful ways,” said Meagan Deeley, Deputy Director of Engineering & Public Works. “By offering these materials at no cost, we’re providing direct support to residents and helping strengthen neighborhoods across Morgantown.”
This is the only day materials will be available, so residents are encouraged to arrive early and bring appropriate hauling equipment.
Upon arrival, please check in at the white pop-up canopy outside the fence. Staff will direct you to the appropriate loading area.
