And why, of why, does it always seemed to be clogged with traffic? This is also the story of a road which many called a "boondoggle" but which eventually ignited the post-war boom in our region. The talk concludes with a look at some solutions being considered to fix some of the road's issues.

is a writer, historian, and playwright who is perhaps best-known for his two books on Scollay Square, Boston's erstwhile entertainment district. Others include his 2003 work (with developer Yanni Tsipis) Building Route 128, and another on U.S. presidential homes and landmarks (which he wrote with his father), along with two historical novels.
