One of the most dynamic and joyous bands on the UK jazz scene right now, joining us after their recent performance at Love Supreme festival, and led by award-winning and inspiring drummer/composer Miles Pillinger, this quintet of some of the finest musicians around mix raw improvisation with rich, uplifting rhythms and melodies of Brazil.
Influenced by Hermeto Pascoal, Max Roach, Chick Corea, Miles brings a melodic and creative sound that’s really having an impact on the UK jazz scene. He’s performed with artists including Olivia Cuttill, Tara lily, Mica Millar, Chip Wickham and the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, and there’s already a stir around his soon to be released debut album ‘Belonging’, a mix of Afro-Brazilian jazz inspired compositions, following his 2023 debut EP ‘Sunrise’.

You may have caught Miles Pillinger at The Lescar in some of our best gigs over the last 2 years, with this quintet and also his band Mangorata, in Olivia Cuttill’s Quintet, and in Lucas Walters' band, last November. He made his Ronnie Scotts’ debut as a leader last year.
Award-winning at the 2025 Parliamentary Jazz Awards, trumpeter Olivia Cuttill brings an expansive sound rich with soul and influences from across the world of jazz and blues, a vibrant and expressive musician, she’s visited us previously with her own quintet and in the bands of Miles Pillinger.
Multi-instrumentalist Benjy Sandler (flute/sax) is a member of NYJO and the London Improvisers Orchestra, a musician with a beautiful tone on his instrument who has performed at venues and festivals including the EFG London Jazz Festival and at Cafe OTO.
Tom Harris is a sensitive, interactive and boldly creative pianist who’s worked with musicians including Rachael Cohen, Jean Toussaint, and Rosie Tee, and across disciplines including with dancers, poets, visual artists, puppeteers, videographers, and actors.
On bass Elliot Whitehouse is another great musician emerging from the London jazz scene, and very much set to make an impact.
