For this fundraiser Leah Ward is partnering with Red Door Animal Shelter based in Chicago. Red Door was founded in 1988 and has significantly grown throughout the years. However, they rely on donations and charity events like the Chicago Marathon in order to keep their doors open. Her goal is to raise $1,500 for the shelter, gaining access to run in the 2025 Chicago Marathon representing them. The Chicago Marathon is one of seven World Majors and an honor to be able to participate in.
Raffle tickets will be $1 per ticket or $10 for 15 tickets. All proceeds go towards her goal for the fundraiser! Local businesses have already donated: Deep River, Fare Game, Mannings, Clayton Steakhouse, Smithfield Cinemas and more! The event will be held at Deep River on May 31st from 1-4. The winners of the drawing will be selected at 4 pm.
