The Cellar Club, in collaboration with Ritual Artistic Encounters, invites you to join us for a special evening inspired by Día de Muertos, one of Mexico’s most meaningful and vibrant cultural traditions.
Día de Muertos is a time to remember and honour those who have passed away, while celebrating the lives, stories and memories they left behind. It is a celebration of life, memory and the connection between the living and those who came before us.
They are not forgotten; they live on through our memories.
Across Mexico, Día de Muertos is celebrated in many different ways, with each region bringing its own traditions, music, costumes, food, rituals and ways of remembering. From family altars and gatherings to music, dance and celebrations in cemeteries, these traditions reflect the extraordinary cultural diversity of Mexico and the importance of keeping memories and ancestral connections alive.
🌼 THE OFRENDA
We will create our own Día de Muertos altar, inspired by the traditional ofrenda. Bring a photograph of someone you would like to honour and place it on the altar. Photographs, candles, flowers, food and meaningful objects come together as a way of remembering and welcoming loved ones.
🎴 MEXICAN LOTERÍA
Join us for a traditional game of Lotería Mexicana, Mexico’s iconic bingo-style game, with prizes for the winners.
🎶 MARIACHIS
Enjoy traditional Mexican music and sing along with our special guests, @mariachinz Bring your friends, choose your favourite Mexican song and join us for a night of live music and Mexican karaoke.
The ticket includes Mexican bites to share, inspired by the traditional flavours of Mexico.
