Mike Sanchez is one of the most exciting and charismatic performers in the world of rhythm & blues and rock 'n' roll. His indelible image as a frenetic front man, pumping powerful boogie-woogie from the piano in a soaking suit, has won him fans from all over the world and attracted a following from many famous rock and blues legends who have lined up to work with him.
From Spanish parents, Mike was born in London, and moved to Worcestershire where he started to play 1950's style piano. In 1984, the foundations of "The Big Town Playboys" started to form, and they became a SMASH HIT all over the world to all Vintage Roots R&B, Boogie Woogie and Rock n Roll fans. The group went on to tour with the likes of Eric Clapton, record albums with likes of Jeff Beck and Robert Plant, and were even the backing band for legendary bluesmen such as Lowell Fulson, Don & Dewey, Lonnie Brooks, Joe Hughes, Jimmy Nelson, Carey Bell and many more shows with pianist Little Willie Littlefield who became a big influence on Mike.
Mike went solo, touring all over the world, and even ended up joining Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings (featuring Albert Lee, Georgie Fame, Andy Fairweather-Low, Beverly Skeete and Eddie Floyd).
After living in Spain for a number of years, we are honoured that Mike will be teaming up with his UK band once again (including some of the ol' Big Town Playboys members) and coming to perform in the Midlands again. this is Garunteed to be a smokin' hot night, so DO NOT MISS IT!
