Mike Oberst & Justine Cefalu- Tradition meets innovation when Cincinnati's genre-spanning veterans of folk scenes Mike Oberst and Justine Cefalu team up. Oberst- a multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter and founding member of the Tillers- has spent years crafting a unique style of balladry with clawhammer banjo, guitar, tin whistle and uilleann pipes, blending time-honored tradition with punk rock energy. Cefalu- accomplished fiddler of Québécois, Irish, and old-time American styles brings her vast repertoire and background of language study for a rich performance experience. Together, the duo brings a vibrant mix of warm, fluent and playful tones, rhythms and harmonies for a set sure to enthrall traditional enthusiasts and general music lovers alike.
Low Landers-are a Bloomington based string band with Honky Tonk and Bluegrass influences. Jesse Beals and the gang have been hard at work for the last 2 years writing and recording their debut album, Them Ole Hounds. This album has it all, hard hitting moonshinin’ tails, sad waltzes, fist pumping anthems that get up out of yer seats and the title track, an ode to dogs here and gone will pull at your heart strings. There’s not a sleeper in the bunch so come out and hear them for your self!!!
Jack Carl-Between songs of foolish longing and scores to symbolic floods, Jack Carl has managed to turn impassioned composition into a full blown pastime. Accompanied by his band, he will sing and play guitar.
Tony Brewer- is a poet and audio artist from Bloomington, Indiana. He has published 13 books and chapbooks, including most recently Good Job, Lightning (Stubborn Mule Press) and coming later this year, Water Witch (Pure Sleeze Press). Tony has been offering Poetry On Demand at coffeehouses, museums, cemeteries, churches, bars, and art and music festivals for over fifteen years. He is a bonafide Kentucky Colonel and was named Indiana’s 2024 Literary Champion by the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana Authors Awards.
Its a big deal. If you hear about it, you're invited.
