Join the Mike Munson Trio in celebrating the release of their new album "Sometimes, not always." at Peter's Biergarten! Music starts at 6pm. "Sometimes, not always." will be available for purchase on vinyl and compact disc. As always, the Biergarten will be serving a variety of great beverages and encourages you to grab food from a neighboring restaurant and bring it along. This show is all ages and free.
The Mike Munson Trio joyfully traverses the melancholic corners of American music much like Edward Hopper did with a paintbrush on canvas. Creating an incomparable rhythm section of three, Munson is joined by Nick Salisbury on bass and Lars-Erik Larson on drums. Their new album is rooted in the trio’s shared love of live performance.
Munson has acquired a top notch band and the surprise effect is a softer, more introspective sound. Comfortably flanked by his bandmates he is encouraged to pursue new creative avenues. With “Sometimes, not always.” Mike Munson pivots away from the driving rifts and heavy, stomping beats of earlier recordings to present slow, jazz-like instrumentals and moving ballads.
